I have been writing ever since I discovered the magic of the pencil, alphabet, and weaving words to make stories come alive on paper. My first poem was published when I was eleven-years-old—on the front page of the school newspaper. I can still recall the thrill and feelings of artistic achievement in seeing my name in print. It hooked me.
I live in Central Florida with my husband of 40 years, and my mom who has become my best friend and confidant. I am the proud mother of two Maltese terriers and one little spunky and sassy Yorkie named Miss Molly McGee. By day I’m an Office Coordinator at an RV resort and by night, I’m a student at the Rice School for Pastoral Ministry, a kindergarten Catechist at St. Catherine Catholic Church, a caretaker, and dog whisperer!
I am a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature and the Writer’s Digest Novel Writing course.
I am currently making the transition from adult fiction author to writing for children and young adults. Over ten years ago I felt I needed to try my hand at writing adult fiction, and I'm pleased to say I succeeded in it! I published two books in a cozy mystery series. My publisher, Five Star|Gale was as surprised as I was to discover these books were more popular with young adults than the adults they were intended for. Anyway, I'm hoping and believing I will be just as successful as I tread back to the path I feel more passionate about and the path I was destined to follow: writing for children and young adults.
My articles have appeared in St. Anthony Messenger, Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic Online.
