Joan B. Flood grew up in Ireland and lived briefly in France and England before settling in Canada, where she criss-crossed between Ontario and British Columbia before putting down roots in Vancouver. Her poetry, short fiction, and non-fiction have been published in anthologies in Canada, USA, and Australia. Her story 87 won honourable mention in The Binnacle Ninth Annual Ultra-Short Story Competition 2012. Her Young Adult novel New Girl (Musa Publishing), won the Orpheus Fiction Contest. Her novel Left Unsaid will be published Fall 2017 by Signature Editions.
A graduate of Simon Fraser University’s The Writer’s Studio (TWS), she spends time in nature, visits art galleries, photo exhibits and modern dance to keep herself curious and her creative life keen, that is when she’s not lolling about in coffee shops scribbling in notebooks.
