Hear of what Shelf Awareness calls "The World's Longest Book Tour?" Yep, we managed that 9-month tour for the indomitable Jenny Milchman, and every one of her tours since then. Segments on The Today Show NPR and BBC, The New York Times, USA Today, MTV, Chicago Tribune, Fortune Magazine, Inc.,The New York Post, AP and Boston Globe are a few of the media outlets that we work well with to promote our authors and books. We are a bunch of mainly former tenacious former journalists who are polite almost to a fault, who love the books and the authors we represent. And, YES, we do read the books! (Seems obvious, but don't take it for granted!).
There are a couple of ways that we're different from the rest of the industry. One example is the JKS Communications beach retreat for writers. Yes! With 6 outdoor areas for getting inspired by looking at the ocean in North Carolina and having the quiet space to write.
Our business model takes into account the life-style and comfort level of authors to promote books in a way that works best for them so that they will enjoy the experience, be more relaxed and spend more time on making their book a success.
We work with authors and publishers to build branding a platform to fit the goals of the author.
We represent books in various genres and have a great deal of experience in the YA and mystery sectors. We have been thankful that our "family" of authors get to know and help each other in peer-to-peer situations. We truly are fortunate to work with not just extraordinarily talented authors, but those that are generous and helpful to others.
