I'm the author of A GIRL CALLED PROBLEM, a middle-grade novel set in East Africa. The protagonist is a thirteen-year-old girl whose name means "Problem" in Swahili. Published in the spring of 2013, the book has received a starred Kirkus review, a glowing review from School Library Journal, and most recently coverage in the New York Times Book Review. My current project is a memoir about moving to India for two years with a newborn baby.
