Who am I
A former Television editor (avid, film editing not script editing) who used to write poetry and has also taken memoir classes. Two years ago when my daughter was born I came down with HELLP Syndrome, a rare and often fatal pregnancy complication. Coming back to life and health and advocating for the brain injured (along with raising my daughter) are my new missions and Ii
Wish to write a memoir that will help do that.
Books I've written, anthologies I've contributed to and any scripts or plays I've authored
I have had several poems published in West/Word, UCLA's journal for student writing but I have not submitted more work, instead focusing on becoming an editor in Television, a path that took me ten years to achieve. Now, however, I wish to return to writing.
My professional associations
Motion Picture Editor's Guild though I am on honorary (medical) withdrawal at the present time.
Services I offer to other writers
I have started a free pee-hosted writer's group out of my Sherman Oaks home. We meet once a month to share work. I also taught freshman composition at UMass Amherst while a first year graduate student in the MA/PhD. program back in 1994. However, after two semesters of studying academic theory jargon in the cold and dark Northeast ("The worst winter we've had in ten years,") I decided to return to Los Angeles and join the film and television business, a MUCH easier and more lucrative path.
I'm part of these writers' groups or salons
