I am a writer, artist, social activist, mother and wife.
I live at the foot of the Rockies, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and am the loving owner of a 2 year old Sheepadoodle -- he has brought enormous joy into our lives. My daughters are grown, one is married neither are parents... yet. :) I also have two grown step children. I feel like my life is blessed and I am... the luckiest girl in the world!
Most days.
And then there are those other days when an aging parent, work in the homeless-serving sector and the ins and outs of aging myself get to me.
On those days, I don't feel so lucky as much as I feel like I want to curl up with a good book or a movie and ignore the world for awhile.
I'm learning to heed my need for solace and silence. I'm learning to honour my need to nurture myself and love myself exactly where I'm at.
