I have been a world traveler all of my long life (I am 73), and I've spent much of my voyaging time recording my experiences. From a vast array of journals, I put together my current memoir.
I am a meditator, have practiced mindfulness for over 18 years, and I take refuge in silent retreats regularly. Mindfulness practice has transformed my life.
I have also dedicated ten years to volunteering as an end of life caregiver at Zen Hospice Project.
As the matriarch of my family (two daughters, five grandchildren, I great grandchild), I have taken great joy in both joint adventures in far flung places with family, and the occasional dispensing of grandmotherly wisdom, as is appropriate for an elder.
These are some of the things I love dearly: teaching, classical piano playing, my two cats, my dog, visual art of varying kinds, books, jewelry (I used to make one of a kind pieces from ancient beads), good food and wine, the ocean, beautiful clothes, and OF COURSE, ALWAYS, travel.
