My debut YA novel, The Leaving Year, was released by SparkPress Aug. 14, 2018, and I'm in the very early stages of writing a second book. I turned back to fiction after leaving a job writing PR and donor communications, mostly for non-profits. Before that, I was a newspaper reporter for 15 years, give or take. I'm married to Mark Funk and we have two great adopted children from Korea: Casey, 20, and Charlie, 18. Plus Ben, our rescue pitbull-mix.
