Author and freelancer, Shah Wharton hails from the West Midlands area of England and has recently (Nov 2014)returned home after living in Dubai for the past several years.
Shah’s appreciation for literature began at an early age after her father introduced her to the world of poetry. Poe’s works kindled a love for the dark and macabre, and today she favours genres with those elements in prominent roles. She has written several horror short stories, assorted poems, and ghostwritten endless erotic romances. Her debut novel, Finding Esta: The Supes Series Book One blends paranormal mystery and urban fantasy, perfectly highlighting her love for the supernatural.
A psychology graduate who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2005, Shah knows the intricacies of mood and human behaviour. She continues to flourish as an author, despite her struggles, and is an advocate for mental health awareness. And while her works are fictional, her characters are written to subtly represent the very real effects of mental illness. These are the kind of people Shah understands and who interest her.
Even though she deals with dark topics, she approaches the subject with positive enthusiasm. She loves learning from other writers and often supports their work online. Her website also offers author services, such as ghostwriting and promotion. Currently, Shah is working on Finding Luna: The Supes Series Book Two, romance shorts for others, and some released under a pseudonym, and several horror shorts.
Shah loves fan mail, live music, great movies and a glass of the red stuff–that’s wine, not blood. But everything feels possible while snuggling up to her husband and their mammoth, longhaired German Shepherd, affectionately named after Shah’s favourite musician and poet, Bob Dylan.
