Author L. Yarotsky studied Master Fiction with Rick Moody for two weeks and Advanced Fiction with Nicholas Delbanco and Kathryn Harrison during a month-long writing residency at the New York State Writers Institute. In addition, she studied fiction writing with Catherine Texier at the New School in New York.
She was Short-List Finalist—twice for 'William Faulkner - William Wisdom Creative Writing' Prize (Novel category); and the recipient of an important grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation for her first fiction manuscript, "island of cards" (unpublished novel).
2013 Scholarship to travel to Cuba with the American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba.
