The She Writes Blog willl be on staycation until Jan. 3 while the women behind the curtain perform various tasks behind the scenes, but She Writes' doors shall of course REMAIN OPEN, 24/7!  Please continue to post at your SW blog (writing, photos, videos), visit your groups, shop at our She Writes store, order up a webinar, catch up on posts you missed, and do all the things you usually do here at the site.

In addition, here are all the ways we can think of to encourage you to stay true to your writing throughout the holidays--a time when many of us need writing most:

1. Respond to a writing prompt from our GIFT OF INSPIRATION campaign by posting a comment or a post (tag it #swinspires):

PROMPT 1 (Author: Lissa Rankin)

What inspires you to...live a more authentic life?

PROMPT 2 (Author: Deborah Siegel)

What inspires you to...keep writing when the writing gets tough?

PROMPT 3 (Author: Kamy Wicoff)

Who inspired (and inspires) you to...write?

PROMPT 4 (Author: Regina Barecca)

What inspires you to...write from your dark side?

PROMPT 5 (Author: Chitra Divakruni)

What inspires you to be...the healthiest you?

PROMPT 6 (Author: Rebecca Traister)

What inspires you to...be political?

PROMPT 7 (Author: Elissa Bassist)

What inspires you to…make a book?

PROMPT 8 (Author: Deanna Zandt)

What inspires you to...change the world?

PROMPT 9 (Author: Tanya Wright)

What inspires you to...TRULY change?

PROMPT 10 (Author: Caitlin Shetterly)

What inspires you to...give a labor of love?

2. Catch up on the responses to the prompts posted by your compatriots here at She Writes by following the threads here or here.

3. Post a writing prompt of your own, for others to write from, or respond to a prompt posted at our newly created Prompt Lot.

4. Help a sister out by recommending a book at the She Writes Recomm-engine.

5. Tell us why you write - in six words.  We’ve created a space for community members to continue to submit their six-word reasons for writing, whatever they may be. Short, sweet, funny, sad: whatever your reasons, your motives, tell us. Add your voice to the nearly 1,000 She Writers who have issued their six-word statements so far.

6. Plant a quote in our Quote Garden.  You’ve heard of a coat drive? Well, this is a quote drive.  Post your favorite quote by a woman (or about women) here.

7. Need help with your title? Post it at our Title Workshop, and get free market research! Just don't forget to pay it forward by commenting on titles from your fellow She Writers.

8. Share your query and give and get constructive feedback over at Query CritiqueFor those who have finished revising a manuscript or proposal and are ready to write that all important and often intimidating query letter to agents, this one's for you.

9. New to She Writes?  Catch up on what you missed in our archive of Popular Articles.

And oh yes, one more: GO AND WRITE!

Kamy and I you and yours the most joyous of holidays.  May your hearts be warmed
by one another, and may your pens and keyboards never be far.
