I have seen people wandering churches and counseling centers seeking happiness and solace but little do they understand only they themselves can open their own doors to peace of mind. You may stare at this thinking that is the same thing you are searching for, how to open those doors to happiness? The main villain here is stress, the one who rips apart your peaceful souls with dark ugly claws. Stress may vary from person to person depending on their age, profession, financial background, or even gender. The strain that will be suffered by a student may not be the same as the one handled by a busy businessman or a toiling farmer. Only thing common is that they all are suffocating with severe pressure. So our concern is to reduce this mental burden at the same time staying focused and positive.

A few months back, one great guy in my friend zone resigned from his highly-paid IT job. When we all were wondering what foolishness this guy was doing, all he said was he cannot cope up with the pressure his work demands. To complete the assigned work modules in specified time, usually very narrow period, conflicts of ideas among his colleagues all these things were making him go crazy. He hardly came home on many days. He did not had time for his wife and 2-year-old kid. What more to say, he almost missed his daily bath. He stopped his routine jogging in the early morning as most days he slept unconsciously. As time rolled by, this started to affect his health. He eventually shook hands with Cholesterol, Diabetes and Pressure, which like his school-grades, they too kept their readings high. Frustrated with the mental and physical strain, he finally decided to quit his job.

The very next thing he did was to undergo a de-stress program to clear up his messed self. Another friend of ours, Sarah, who had some experiences in this field agreed to help him. She asked him to make a list of things he wanted to do, which should range from his daily necessities to his hobbies. The next thing she told him was to start pursuing the list on priority basis. Most importantly, she reminded him not to think of anything else while immersed in one particular task. That is focusing just one thing at a time. In this way, Sarah cut down his whole big tasks into tiny fragments, which were easier to complete and that too in a relaxed manner. This gave him self-confidence and a positive outlook, which he had lost earlier in the hustle and bustle of life.

So stress management is nothing but an effective way to keep control of our thoughts and actions. Our mind should be able to control our actions and never the other way round. When you deal with stressful situations, never lose hope; rather try to seek expert advice and help. Concentrate your mind and break the problems causing stress into small fragments. Then start analyzing solutions. This is the key to reduce the stress and associated concerns. Try these above mentioned steps to get your life back on track. Apart from following these steps it is important to make some changes in one’s lifestyle to get rid of stress / anxiety disorders. Inducing new habits like meditation or yoga can do wonders in keeping hold of our mind. Some food items like chamomile, green tea are also found to be effective in dealing with stress situations . Among all the remedial measures, lemon balm and foot soaking with listerine solution remains as one of the oldest and most followed treatment for stress management.  So keep your mind fresh, young, focused and positive. Stay healthy, Stay happy.
