After a few years of working on another book, I knew that Moments of Grace:  A Collection of Poetry Inspired by Faith took precedence.  In a sudden burst of intuition, I realized that once I finished Moments of Grace, my uncertainties about Sacred Spaces would be lessened.  One decision was whether to submit the book to a traditional publisher or to self-publish.  Now that I gleaned some experience with self-publishing, I feel more confident.

I still have a lot to learn.  However, I now know first-hand what other authors meant by saying that we need to promote, promote, promote!  The challenge is to not be too pushy. As the New Year approaches, I wonder what is next? 

But first, I look back at 2013 and wonder, "What took me so long to publish?"  I also look back with gratitude for Viva Bookstore and Gallery in San Antonio.  Surrounded by friends and 'friends of friends', my first Reading and Book Signing there was wonderful.

My friends in my church community encouraged and supported me with fundraisers and now, I can give back to my community!  Yes, because of them and many others, my first book is published.  Now, I am preparing to give two retreats,  in the Spring and Summer.  I have also been invited to tutor some adults in English/Culture using my book.

I never realized where Moments of Grace would lead me and whom it would inspire.  As friends purchase my book to give as gifts, the reasons (particular situations) they share for gifting are amazing.  I know there are some stories out there!
