The process to become a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) starts from enrolling in a CNA training program. The program is a short-term course offered through various technical and educational institutions that lasts for four to six weeks. After the training, passing the certification exam is necessary to have the license. The cost of the training bears no resemblance throughout the states and training institutes. It may be in the range of $300 to $1200. Any specialization program may also cost over $2500.

Here are few tips to find financial aid for CNA education

Government Aid: If you do not want to bring your friends and relatives under obligation by asking them to fund your training, apply for scholarships and grants offered by the federal government. Go to the website of the U.S. Department of Education Office of Vocational and Adult Education. You will find health-care facilities and training institutions listed on the website. Go through the list and read the types of conditions you have to fulfill, and apply it.

Financial Institutions: Private financial institutions offer loans to students with nominal interest rate, which starts after the training completion. The financier will ask you to get a guarantor who can vouch for you, and take the responsibility of the repayment. Since the need of the loan amount is not big, you can easily pay back once you are employed. You may also get the loan in case you can offer them some references.

Educational Loan: Many public and private banks offer educational loans to students who want to learn professional skills. The interest rates among the banks are different. In any case, it would not be unbearable and since there is a job guarantee because of the shortage of certified nursing aides, and the loan amount not being huge, loans are easily granted.

Health-care Facilities: If you are not able to qualify for the scholarships and grants, contact the HR of the neighboring health-care facilities. Any of the facilities may offer you free training through an agreement to serve them at least for a year.
