Are you able to sustain a commitment regardless of the Whether Forecast? Will you stay with a passion or idea whether or not others believe in you? Have you learned to face defeat and rejection with a jack-in-the-box mentality, springing back for the next time a door is open? Sometimes it appears the message we are getting is; to give up, abandon ship and forget what we are striving for because it just isn't going to happen. But those individuals who really believed in themselves and their ideas "weathered" what must have been insurmountable storms to get to shore. Sure, it is easy to assume that every "no", every "don't" every “can't" means to quit but sometimes the message is just the opposite. We are being groomed for something bigger, better and perhaps more incredible. Sometimes what is being created is a determination and character to be even more than we can imagine. In 1962, Decca Records rejected representing the Beatles. Atari and Hewlett Packard passed on Steve Job's idea of a personal computer. Margaret Mitchell received 38 rejections for her novel, Gone With the Wind. Gene Hackman was told he had no ability to act and Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team. If they had all given up, some impressive talent and substantial contributions to society would most definitely have been eliminated. In Hebrews, the Jewish Christians are reminded to persevere in their faith regardless of the many obstacles. "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised." If you believe God is directing you somewhere, ask for His guidance in the culmination, and although it may not be the most direct route or in the way you had planned, He will take you where you need to be. Are you apt to take a rejection as the end or the means to an end? Do you stay the course whether the sun is out or it is raining? Do you have what it takes to get to where you want to be whether the road will be rocky or smooth? Do you know God is with you whether you are succeeding or failing and will you persevere in doing His will whether it looks easy or difficult? One of the most incredible individuals I have ever met is Charles Edward Heaton (Roscoe). His story is told in ONE MORE SERVING http://www.onemoreserving.com You will be amazed at Roscoe's perseverance and "whether forecast" for his life. We each have to address our "whether forecast" and determine whether we are permitting circumstances to derail us or build our character, whether we are allowing rejection to strengthen our resolve or diminish our spirit. Are you prepared, no matter what the "whether?"
