Tonight in New York, girls participating in the award-winning mentoring program designed by our philanthropic partner, Girls Write Now, will be reading from their work alongside the fiction writer EMMA STRAUB.
The evening is part of Girls Write Now's CHAPTERS series (please come tonight to meetup with other She Writers if you are in New York!), and last year, one of the writers who read at the series was the acclaimed author CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE. GWN has shared this inspiring interview, conducted by mentee TINA GAO, with us.
Enjoy -- and if you feel *really* inspired, stop by Girls Write Now's homepage, where you can learn more about this ground-breaking organization, and donate to their work in mentoring the next generation of women writers.
Thank you so much for the inspiring interview. I'm enthralled. The beauty of your voices and the message is shining. I'm looking forward to reading Chimananda's work. I love what she said about being a good observer.
Great job from another character and narrative devotee. Nice interview, Tina Gao.
Wow! I am always inspired and impressed when I hear Chimamanda Adichie. I love her comments about the "more you read, the more you know" and how the sound bites limit us. "Loves me" some Chimamanda!
gorgeous to listen to and look at - thanks much!
