Hi!
My name is Stevie Edwards, and I am a Commissioning Editor for The History Press. We are a trade paperback publisher that focuses on publishing accessible local and regional histories, ranging from The History of Michigan Wines to The Civil War in Fairfax County to Strange Maine: True Tales from the Pine Tree State. I deal specifically with developing titles in New York (state) and New Jersey, and I would love to work with more writers from Upstate (especially women) who want to tell the stories of the region. I lived in Ithaca while completing my MFA in poetry at Cornell, and the area is very near and dear to my heart. I invite you to browse our online catalog and author proposal form to get a sense for our range and process. We handle all stages of the publishing process – from editing, design, and production to sales and distribution—and compensate in the form of royalties.
Best,
Stevie Edwards
