How many distribution channels do people use?

Preparing to Publish

Hi everyone, I'm new and will be publishing 3 books in 2014.

Looking at distribution channels: Amazon Kindle, Amazone Createspace, Ingram Spark and Smashwords.

Can I use all of them and will I get into trouble?

I know I can use the same ISBN for print and same ISBN for e-book, but are there any selection options so I make sure that say Ingram Spark and Smashwords aren't both selling to Apple?

I keep hearing about how difficult it is to use Lightening source - but once you have a formatted pdf file should the process not be a simple uploading?

It's good to know there is some selection process on Smashwords, thanks!

Hi,

I use Amazon, but I don't use the KDP Select or you can't distribute from i.e. Smashwords/Apple. I sell a lot more ebooks on Smashwords than Amazon. On Smashwords you can check or uncheck where you want your ebooks to go. I use Lightening Source to print, they are connected to Ingram.
