Author of the soon-to-be released novel, Song of the Earth. I hold an MFA, with a dual concentration in Fiction and Creative Non-fiction, from Antioch University Los Angeles and am certified as a Creative Writing Instructor. I have had several pieces published through the years, most recently in Pilgrimage, a literary magazine, and in High Country News. I am now working on a memoir and laying the groundwork for another novel. My dedication to and tireless advocacy for human rights was sparked by my twelve years as an innkeeper on the U.S. – Mexican border. I have spent a lifetime studying ‘place.’ I live in Joplin, Missouri caring for my elderly father, with my black Labrador, Harry, at my side.
