Maria,

I was taken aback by a few aspects of the interchange about the self-published book.

One, father sending messages for his son. Who wrote the book? Two, not every parent would do this for his/her kid. I am pretty sure that my own daughter would NEVER want me doing her advertising, promoting, or business writing for her. Would rather shrivel up and die, actually. "I am not a child!"

Three, can the author really write? Perhaps, but in the words of "Law & Order" wasn't he suborning perjury? Didn't the father conspire in the deception?

Yes, I know that you can PAY people to submit a thousand 5 star reviews of your work, but this taints the entire rating system.

If Father is so proud of his son, he should buy a copy of the book, not peddle it. When the son wins a Pulitzer  Prize, the father might be mentioned - but for his integrity, not for cheating.
