Cate Marvin, co-founder of the critically important organization for women writers, VIDA: Women in Literary Arts, had the fantastic idea to put together a panel for the upcoming AWP Conference in Chicago that will take place at 4:30 on Friday, March 2, of which KAMY WICOFF of She Writes will be a part:

F223. The Master’s Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master’s House: Organizations Supporting Women in the Literary Arts (Cate Marvin, Julie Kuzneski Wrinn, Kate Gale, Kamy Wicoff, Amy Hoffman)
Boulevard Room A,B,C, Hilton Chicago, 2nd Floor
Female and male authors alike are encouraged to join us for a conversation between founders and directors representing a variety of women’s literary organizations: VIDA: Women in Literary Arts, A Room of Her Own, She Writes, the Kentucky Womens Writers Conference, and the Women’s Review of Books. Presenters will discuss their respective and shared missions to foster the production of women’s writing and challenge its critical reception in our current literary culture.

We also be co-hosting a reception, "Women Write Books at Women Made Art", with the organizations represented on the panel, as well as Hedgebrook (Amy Wheeler will be in attendance at the panel, and hopefully participating actively), and if you are coming to AWP and will be around Saturday from 5-7PM, I really hope you will attend.  (For the details and to RSVP, click here.)

Are you going to attend AWP, and will you be speaking on a panel or signing books?  Please post the details here so we can begin marking our schedules with our fellow She Writers' events!

Hi Kamy. I am speaking at AWP on Feb. 29 from 9-10:30 on a panel that is discussing how writer's are using social media; I'll be doing a session on how to write better Tweets. Would love to meet you and will attend the reception (RSVP-ing now). I'll throw in a plug for She Writes and connecting here.
