I am a retired professor of education with a varied creative life. For the first years of my (early) retirement, I focused on songwriting, an old love I'd long ignored, and in '08 I produced a CD, which featured all original music & lyrics, written and sung by myself. I've also always written, and, while my husband was housebound, I went back to that old novel I'd hacked away at for decades, and completed a first draft. Along the way I started blogging in the backwaters of MySpace for a year, setting myself a weekly deadline, commenting on films, TV, social issues- especially education and women's issues - and at one time had several hundred hits every week. Finally, this past year, I stumbled onto the San Miguel Poetry Week, was accepted, and had a most excellent experience there - I am a passionate if less than frequent poet.
