Pissed about the list! I subscribe to P&W but am going to let them know I will not re-up this year in protest! While they are supportive of writers and give money to writer conferences and other event, P&W need to know we won't stand for this BS. Years ago the art world saw the Gorilla Girls, masked like big apes they busted in on gallery shows with no female artists represented. In every field women must always fight our way. This happened along time ago, when around the same time that Og was dragging his woman around by the hair, he/male started to notice she/female was smart, capable and to boot, a giver of life. Oops! So Og got busy making women second class citizens, which worked because he could kill lions and she couldn’t (Or more likely didn’t want to). Here's what I see. Huge numbers of women now out number men in universities. Many more women than before are in politics, business, and leading big companies. This will make a difference over time. We will get more women everywhere that matters—and that's everywhere. Women will rise, and not to march in the streets with guns like most of what we see on TV news, men with way too much testosterone. We will rise, are rising and the world will be a better place. This list of top writers being all men is a wake up call for women writers. We have to make noise over this BS. Hugs to those of you who are leading the charge. Whew! I feel better now.
