This week seemed crazy and slow at the same time. Not sure how that is possible but it was. One day I heard crickets and the next, a grenade exploded.  I can't explain it. Instead, I'll just rant and rave about it. (Shrapnel has a lingering effect so if this post doesn't make sense or there are some typos, it's the PTSS.)

Rants:

•Mother Nature needs to get back on her medication because we are all over her bipolar episodes. Pick a weather pattern and stick with it, honey.

•Big puppy keeps tackling little dog when she is not looking-seriously, he is going to break her hip. She is thirteen, that's ninety-one in our years. She could snap in half at any moment.

•Revision of my manuscript is not happening as fast as I had intended. I always seem to have good intentions. It's the actual "doing it" part that seems to fall to the wayside.

•My short story might be turning into a novella. I must chop off it's legs before it runs away on me.

•I need to find some critique partners but I have no idea how I want to proceed. I don't want just anyone; I want someone who loves my writing, tells me my words are perfect, and that I inspire them. What? That's not what critique partners do? I NEED is the opposite of that? I've always hated that want vs. need thing. :)

•I have a lot of Twitter and blog followers that are YA writers. Are they trying to tell me something?

•I have four weeks until I have to squeeze my arse into a bathing suit and formal attire (for my husband's sales conference) and my winter habits did not prepare me very well for this. I'm back on my "no alcohol, little carb, clean eating" regiment. It works, therefore, I do.

•I have a book addiction. I just went to library and picked up five books. Went to the bookstore and snagged another five more only a couple of days later. When do I plan on sleeping?

•I have neglected some of my blog friends, which means I haven't made many comments. This does not reflect my level of interest. It reflects my lack of organization and time management. I have been a bad blog friend and I will fix that, soon.

•The bullets show up in the draft of the post but they don't show in actual post. Wordpress Gods, please explain. (I had to manually go back and insert them. I know, can you believe it? So wrong.)

•I didn't get much cleaning done this week.

Raves:

•I didn't get much cleaning done this week!!

•I had lunch with friends to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. Even though she taunts me with her youthful and barely wears makeup appearance and constant reminders that she will ALWAYS be younger than me, I still love her. Happy Birthday, Em!

•I'm leaving for Costa Rica in four weeks! Yippy-kay-yay!

•You are looking at one of the newest reviewers for The Bookworm____ (was Blog but they are in the process of coming up with a new name). Strictly volunteer and it is only once a month. Ahh, why not. I've got NOTHING else going on.

•Book news I am excited about! There are some great authors with upcoming book releases. Let me count thy names:

-Jessica McCann's debut novel All Different Kinds of Free, comes out April 1st-ish.

-Rae Meadows, her third book Mothers And Daughters, comes out March 29th.

-Rebecca Rasmussen's debut novel The Bird Sisters comes out April 12th.

-Jael McHenry's debut novel The Kitchen Daughter also comes out April 12th.

-Sandra Dallas's tenth novel, The Bride's House, releases May 1st.

•Blogger and Twitter friend, Melissa Cryzter Fry, has a very cool photography contest going on right now and she has Therese Walsh, Caroline Leavitt, and Damien Franco as judges. Are you kidding me?!

•I'm getting more comments on my blog but it isn't number of comments that makes me happy. I love to hear what others think about the topics I talk about. Thank you to all that have taken the time to stop and read my posts. Even if you don't have a comment, you can hit the thumbs up button. I appreciate every single interaction. Because you could be watching American Idol or baking cookies rather than read this. But you didn't and I thank you.

•I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love being a writer.

•I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, (and horde) books.

Happy Friday, folks!

Enjoy your weekend, drinking your wine, eating some pasta, maybe bread, rice, more wine, maybe a baked potato...(sigh)

Oh honey I hear you about the bathing suit! And thank you so much for mentioning my book! XOXOOX

Somehow those joyous, up-in-the-air photos remind me of some yogic wisdom re: being in tune with the season, right now on the cusp of winter-spring and just ready to bust out of that very internal place winter takes us. 'Rants and Raves' is nothing if not a reflection of the lion-lamb of March. And on the subject of seasons, your post re: Stephen King brought me back to the four stories in DIFFERENT SEASONS,  which, for me, shed a whole new slant on his writing.
